Given the enormous amount of money that is spent on our health care system and the research that has gone into the various diseases we would be excused if we think that there should be able to trust our health care system to deliver quality health care. As of Monday, December 14, the Whitman County Health Department now has enough H1N1 vaccine to lift any restrictions on who may receive it. Most other health departments in our area have also lifted restrictions now that vaccine supplies are adequate. The primary reason we don’t worry about much about these illnesses any more is due to the advancements in Public Health science and the diligence of public health workers.
Individuals that work in this department of environmental services work to ensure that the citizens of the community have safe drinking water. This ongoing grant ensures the health center will be able to serve the public for years to come, health officials said.
